When I painted this picture in 2017, I wanted to try out whether I could also paint something figurative. That was the only thing I planned to do. Everything else should come intuitively. The painting is dedicated to my cat Nikki. Unfortunately she is no longer alive, but she was always with me in the studio. She was my muse and best friend. Since I have been suffering from long Covid for 2.5 years with severe exhaustion and dizziness, I unfortunately can't paint as often as I would like. So I looked through my portfolio and came across this work. Somehow it had a healing effect on me. Maybe it can do the same for someone else, that's why I'm selling it. The peinting is painted on very thick watercolor paper. it feels more like cardboard and is very stable

I am an emerging artist born in 1967 and living in Switzerland. Throughout my life, i was always fascinated by the power of colors. In 2008 my desire of arranging colors to my own vision arose and I started giving the medium of watercolor a chance. Impressed by the countless prospects of giving my emotions expression, I stayed with this medium for years and accompanied the Austrian artist Bernhard Vogel on several trips to Salzburg, Tuscany, Venice, Basel, and Bern. In 2013 the burning desire to broaden the media in use awoke. I went painting acrylic. Mainly self-taught, I also shared workshops with Nancy Hillis, Jane Davies, Louise Fletcher and various other artists. My inspiration emanates of my deep emotions. Far from any fear of a white paper, I start a picture applying dye with intuition and spontaneity. After the first main visualizations are brought to paper, the next stage is characterized by an intense dialogue between me and picture: it's a kind of letting go and sensing what the needs of the creation and me really are. The process and thus, the work comes to an end when consent is reached. At present, I integrates oil pastels, soft pastels, various markers, collage elements and whatever is suitable to my art. I also love to share my knowledge with other people on YouTube. My YouTube Channel link is https://www.youtube.com/c/ConnyLehmann
