ABOUT THE ARTWORK
My inspiration for this piece stemmed from observing the innocence seen in children when they are carefree of the world's troubles. This young girl was so free from the troubles of life that she found great pleasure in the natural beauty of floral fields and green grass. I hope viewers will feel this same emotion when life's burdens become hard to bear. I hope that viewers will trust that everything will work out fine. I chose the medium of watercolor because of the ease of mixing colors. The subject matter was chosen because children are adorable to paint in general. The style of realism was my preference because I enjoy creating art that reflects real-life subject matter.
