ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Large abstract painting 72"x 60" x 1.25" Acrylic paint on heavy canvas stretched over custom pine wood frame. This painting's form shares the style of many abstract expressionist's work from the action painting camp. Expansive field of color and forms emerging out of a heavily worked surface with obvious brushwork and evidence of paint serving as its own subject matter not representing anything else. I introduced copper pigment into my palette here to see how well I could produce a seductive surface without relying solely on the copper material itself.
