ABOUT THE ARTWORK

The second piece in a series of new paintings. Elements within the landscape are combined by the artist to create depth and space for the viewer to explore. Colour and shape move in a rhythm that suggests textures; the eye is brought into sharp relief by a line of distant hills. Mark-making and glazes evolve to energise the surface and to suggest the interplay of light and dark. The three paintings shown here can be viewed individually, and also form part of a triptych.
