About The Artwork
Inspired by the Belgium, Netherlands, Denmark and German seaport paintings of the 1850's. I found an old circa 1890 - 1900 frame at a swap meet and wanted to paint a genre style painting that tells a story of the old seaports. Boats in an out, workers organizing supplies and even commuters waiting for a bridge to let them cross. It is painted on canvas board in acrylic with a series of acrylic washes to give it an older feel. It will be shipped wrapped in bubble wrap and in a flat cardboard box. The measurement listed is the complete size of the piece including the frame, which is wired and ready to hang.
