Number 4 Painting

I am a self-taught artist, born in Zimbabwe but raised in the United Kingdom. I first found myself interested in art as a child, around 9 years old. I'm not clear on where the desire initially came from, but I can recall spending hours on different artistic projects, and eagerly entering myself into competitions in the hopes of showcasing my abilities. For me, the desire to create has only become more pronounced as I've gotten older. I enjoy creating abstract images, whether physically on a canvas or digitally. When painting on a canvas, the color schemes and patterns I incorporate predominantly are inspired by my surroundings, as well as my emotions at the time of painting. When creating digital art, I enjoy using different layering methods to make ordinary household items look interesting. This is because I have found that whilst going outside to seek inspiration can be helpful, often, a perspective change is all that is required. To me, each piece is an opportunity to learn, not just artistically but about life. I have learned a lot about myself whilst painting as well as learning about patience and mistakes.
