O Sanma Painting

How many times have I been under the deep hypnosis of the beauty of nature ! .. Two years ago, on a trip to Japan, in a small supermarket, I stayed frozen ( and a bit akward) , my head hovering just a few centimeters above a packed fish : A japanese Mackerel ( Sanma )... I was mesmerized by the glistening pattern of the scales, the iridescence and the metallic shine of the (alas) dead fish...I took a picture, hiding from the owner.. (I must confess, I asked before taking the picture.. And he made a big sign with is arms crossed : "Bastu !" ="No" !). My photo was a bit faint.. so I searched numerous pictures of the fish, and finally combining two pictures I made a quick sketch on my Tablet. Then I plunged... in the deep blue / gray / violet-magenta / etc... not forgeting the hint of yellow on the mouth of the fish (almost like a "plastic" material ). So , here's the rendition of this memory. The picture here, though colorfull, doesn't do justice on the color saturation.. but I guess that's the case for every art picture. The big size of this painting provide the possibility, for the viewer, to immerse into this vibrant blue haze. A big splash, plunging into the freshness and the sparkle of the nature incredible beauty...
