Conceição Rhodes is a portuguese artist painter living and working in Lisbon, Portugal. She started painting and drawing when she was young. She worked as a secretary and public relations. In parallel, she studied in the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon. She lived many years in the countryside so, her artworks are deeply inspired by Nature, in a subconscious way. Her painting is abstract. Colors and stains plays a crucial role in Conceição Rhodes paintings. She use the colors in an abstract way. In this free process, she surprises with joy, with the appearance of forms and beings that arise from the interaction between the color and her inner world. She feels that this is an escape from reality and a journey into the fascinating unknown and a sense of freedom. In the course of her work, she feel transported for atmospheres of dream and mystery. Signs of Nature are almost always dominant. She use acrylics, paintbrushes and many other materials to make her works. She also makes painting and drawings on paper for textiles.
