About The Artwork

At the end of 2017, I was finishing a series of anatomy studies that I do every year to keep my memory on point. Soon after that, I started playing with the anatomical shapes of the skull. The inspiration for that piece was actually the wireframe or in other words, the guidelines that follow the shape. I wrote a story for an archmage that realized how to drain power from the mind... At great cost. He sacrificed every drop of humanity in that pursuit. In the end, however, you can't escape your true nature. Sometimes at the peak of our power, we feel powerless to fight ourselves and what's in us. We are constructs built by all the personalities around us. This is how we grow or destroy ourselves... The whole story you can find on the back of the framing. The digital painting is a medium that has no borders nor boundaries. It allows us to experiment and find the best way to portray the images that are in our minds. I explore the social constructs and the way we move through the world in most of my works that fits perfectly in the realm of the dark surrealism.
