About The Artwork
This original painting is an artist's impression of the end of the road at old A1A near Matanzas Inlet, Florida. It is a real place, but is rendered here from memory with embellishment. It is based on my own personal experiences at Matanzas. I placed footprints in the sand tell a story of people visiting this area to wander about. They make memories watching shrimp boats on the horizon, or enjoying a campfire under the stars, hidden just behind the tall rocks. This piece of road used to connect Matanzas Bridge to the Marineland area, but was washed out by tides and erosion.
