For me, painting is a process in which there is an alchemical transformation of reality experienced directly into reality created on canvas, which is not its faithful reproduction, but a discovered reality, new and previously unknown. The painter himself is sometimes surprised by the painted image. This process is not subject to rational speculation, but is subject to instinct and intuition. Over the decades, my painting has evolved, and a particularly important stage was studying and sketching from nature, the experience of direct plein air paintings, especially in Greece. Currently, I have broken away from attachment to the visible world in favor of autonomous images, which lead me deep into myself through the process of searching for balance and harmony in them through the combination of color spots and drawing lines. However, I believe that certain elements still remain constant, those that result from my temperament and type of sensitivity, and in the paintings they are revealed by the impressionability and expressiveness of form. The works presented here are a fragment of my artistic achievements to date. I secretly hope that the world I create invites, rather than pushes away, those who look at it, and that it brings about positive emotions and valuable reflections.
