"Old sweet home" Painting

Sergey Denisov (born 1972) is a self-taught Russian painter, based in Moscow. He started painting seriously only in his early forties. After finishing State University of Management in 1995, Sergey Denisov worked as PR professional in Moscow. Simultaneously he tried himself in photo and digital arts. After years of experimentation Sergey shifted his focus to oil painting. First oil paintings were done in 2014. The artist doesn't think that he started too late: “Talking about emerging art people often mean young artists. I prefer to mean those who are considered on the path to market acceptance. I’m glad to stay an emerging artist. This allows me to remain open to experiments. Besides, Gauguin, Van Gogh and Kandinsky became emerging artists at the age of 30+. So, I’m in a good company” Sergey Denisov’s painting style is loosely defined in a contemporary format, combining elements of expressionism and impressionism with abstract painting techniques. His paintings are primarily portraits and figurative pictures. Sergey takes ideas from daily life and transforms them into painting subjects. The images are based on different sources: photos and observations, impressions from lots of trips, as well as imaginations. Sergey Denisov’s artworks are now in some private collections in Europe and America.
