A water foul with muddy feet should not be in an artwork, but I had an idea, a chance to play with color and a palette knife! Under the egrets white feathers is color, yet the bold contrasts make this award winner engage the viewer throughout the piece. An African egret becomes One With Nature as the title states is an oil on canvas by artist Kim Shuckhart Gunns. She received the Jurors award (all 3 of them) at the Renton Fine Art Show. The egret by the waterway seems to be a favorite and a little more real than KSG usual work. It's now available for purchase. This was also awarded 1st Place in Oil Painting at the Anderson Island Art Show by Master artist and Juror Alexei Antonov.Well this bird just won another award at the Oldfield Invitational Show! How great is that!
