Ljudmila Swarczewskaja is a contemporary textile artist, member of Estonian Artist's Union. Her works were acquired by the Estonian Museum of Applied Art and Design, the Russian Museum of Estonia, Estonian Actor's Union (ENL) and are part of private collections in Estonia, Italy, Finland, Sweden, France, Russia, Belgium, Germany. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from both Moscow College of Applied Arts and Estonian Academy of Arts, where she followed the courses of reknowned professors Mall Tomberg, Mari Adamson and Helene Kuuma. Ljudmila Swarczewskaja designs textile artworks for more than 30 years. She masters gobelin tapestry, researching for the harmony of colors and smoothly composing abstract designs. Using natural materials, she develops her own author's technique - a combination of traditional weaving and netting. Through her tapestries, the artist expresses her thoughts on space, nature, music, poetry and relationship between human beings. According to the Professor Boris Bernstein, member of the International Association of Art Critics, « Ljudmilla Swarczewskaja is a talented and bright artist, a first class expert in artistic textiles. She combines both a rare personal artistic imagination and well-rounded artistic culture ».
