ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This painting created on a wooden panel combines my practice of realistic painting with 3 dimensional assemblage. Entitled Ooops this painting is uses wood to show the detail of the Victorian windows inspired by the inner city suburbs of Melbourne. The paint tin is a playful addition to the work reflecting how accidents can occur in day-to-day life. I like to capture the unique features of these historical buildings in my paintings that remind the viewer of a past time, architectural details that are rapidly disappearing in our cityscapes.
