About The Artwork
Summer heat rising from the open plains was the inspiration for this oil painting. The layers of paint, applied with a brush and palette knife, vibrate to create a sense of serene spaciousness, and the eye is carried off into the distant hills, leaving the viewer with a sense of calm and tranquility. This artwork was created using Michael Harding Professional Artists oil colours and is painted on mounted wood board. The edges are left white (please see additional photograph), and it is ready to hang. This piece is signed and dated on the back and comes with a signed Certificate of Authenticity. All work is carefully wrapped for shipping. This painting will be wrapped in tissue, foam board and bubble wrap, then placed in a sturdy cardboard box.

Lizzie Butler is an expressive, semi abstract artist, who works in a contemporary style in oil. Her strong spatial awareness and a passion for working en plein air, inform her practice and lead to paintings that recreate the intangible atmosphere found in landscapes and the peaceful silence of nature. Most of her paintings are begun outside and completed in her London studio. Although working primarily in oil, Lizzie also enjoys the physicality of exploring etching with zinc and steel plates, to create intaglio prints. Lizzie Butler's artwork has been exhibited at Leighton House Museum, Kensington, London, The Russell Gallery, London, and several other Galleries. Lizzie's paintings can be found in collections in America, New Zealand, the UK and across Europe, with several customers returning to buy further paintings and place commissions. March 2019 - Two pieces shortlisted for the Royal Academy of Arts summer exhibition.
