I am an exhibiting artist and member of the Art Women at Work and Inspiration International Art Group, Salem, NY. Exhibiting as featured artist at the Barnsdall Art Fair Center here in LA until July 31st. Recently nominated by the Monique Wells Foundation for the Norval Sovereign African Prize Award. Featured in the 2 Parts Les Amis BlogSpot Buford Delaney out of Paris, France. Author of the Book Nita distributed by Barnes and Noble. TV personality for 15Minutes the Show. Photojournalist and blogger. Social influencer. A black female Vietnam era veteran who was diagnosed with chronic PTSD and Bi-polar, high functioning autistic by the Head of the State of California Psychology Board Dr. Lester Zackler and the Veterans administration in 2008. In December of 2012 two years after a near death experience, I heard a firm and distinct voice from within say” you have to go paint. You have something to say”. I said. “Oh yeh”, and who the fuck are you”. For some reason, I had a strong aversion to art .A series of timely and mystifying events took place including inheriting an entire art studio collection from a woman who I met for 15Minutes and who transitioned a few weeks later. I suddenly felt compelled to begin painting and have continuously trained myself since. Eventually with the encouragement and sound direction of a few friends who had a background in the art field, I continued to develop although I had thrown my first pile of homemade art into the trash. A few of my neighbors got them out and I continued to paint giving away or donating most of my early works. This caused my veteran’s advocate to show my work at Swarthys in Pasadena, California. I am constantly looking for places to show my work. I tend to paint according to what I can sense and feel. Outside of what I have researched online have little knowledge about art or its beginnings. I am self-trained and guided by a highly developed intuition.
