ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I was thinking about closeness and isolation when I painted this - how some can feel on the outside when others are close. I hoped to depict the emotional connection between women, and how we can feel alone even when physically close with anyone. I hope the viewer will sense that and also contemplate the separate figure and what it means.
