Oyanga – Is part of a series of works of 9 works titled Prayer to Adeke. The series is an exploration of Divine Femininity through 4 questions listed below. In relation to this theme, I use the following questions to guide my interrogation. 1. What is divinity 2. What is my/the body’s relationship to the divine? 3. Where do we find divinity? 4. What is our/my relationship with the divine? 6 of the works are currently on show at a non – commercial exhibition at the African Studies Gallery in Tel Aviv – Israel. 2 works in Kampala and 1 work in Versant Sud France. Oyanga – Take it Description. The artwork depicts a female figure in what looks like a trance. She is surrounded by different amorphous shapes and colours. blurb We’ve been taught that the only acceptable supernatural gift come from the Christian church, forgetting we all connecting to the natural and the supernatural that is out there. In the work I am encouraging viewers not be afraid of their divine gifts. Embrace, take them and share them.
