The canvas is stretched on a wooden frame, sides painted, and framing is optional. The artwork is signed and dated on the back and accompanied with a certificate of authenticity. A thin layer of matte varnish protects the artwork against UV light and dust. ____________________ The world outside is fun, busy and confusing. The more the world is getting complicated, the more emotions are tangled up in my mind. One day I discovered that I could be free from the complex emotions when I simplified things surrounding me in my imagination. I found the beauty in the puzzled world on my own way. I started to express bold and beautiful things that I had simplified throughout my artworks. Everything in the city and the nature around me that caught my eyes became my inspiration. My job was making things simple and harmonizing them on my canvas. The images simply consist of organic and geometric shapes and balanced colours. The bold textures, marks, and saturated colours represent my impression to the surroundings. It is more like looking into the world through my own filter. I hope to share ‘The Beauty of Simplicity’ and take you to the world filtered by my imagination.

Che Ree Kwon is a visual artist, currently based in Toronto, Canada. She was born and raised in South Korea where she studied Fine Art for her master’s degree. She works in various mediums from acrylic to digital art and continues to explore new art forms. Most of her hand-painted artworks are acrylic colours and mixed media on canvas and paper. Che Ree’s art practice is grounded in her memories and emotions. In her paintings she expresses various emotions in a variety of forms, which are layered, built, and composed in the space of the canvas to represent what she was feeling during that moment. Her compositions have an organic quality, often incorporating geometric shapes, textures, and balanced colours and tones with occasional bold contours. Through this artistic approach, her artwork serves as a harmonious reflection of her memories and emotions, providing a filter through the way in which she perceives the world. Her work has been exhibited throughout Canada and South Korea and she is currently working on a series of paintings for the upcoming exhibition in 2024.
