The picture shows a City - from the Greek language - Polis. This is the eleventh artwork in the POLIS series, consisting of many images and still being created. The idea of the POLIS series is a universal city - as Constantinople was once described. The idea is multi-layered, inspired also by Rome, Constantinople and Jerusalem, as well as New Jerusalem - the Heavenly. It merges all cities of the world, passing over their negative sides, dirt, and corruption. It is a City Transformed - Transformed in a similar way that people will be at the End of Days. With the emergence of subsequent POLIS paintings, we delve into them, learning about its recesses and secrets, sometimes we look inside the buildings, sometimes we look from their inside. The style of creation is largely derived from the traditional icon, combines abstraction and cubism, and is full of mystery. It is strongly inspired by the concept of creating multidimensional surfaces by the austere means of simple geometric figures and balanced colors. Made by acrylic technique on fiberboard.

I was born in 1977, I live and create in my beloved Low Beskids in Carpathian Mountains. In 1998 I graduated from the State High School of Fine Arts. A. Kenar in Zakopane, in 2001 School of Iconography in Bielsk Podlaski educating professional Orthodox iconographers. My diploma thesis was the design and execution of the polychrome of the chapel of Holy Trinity at this school. In 2007 The church was awarded by SARP - the Association of Polish Architects. As an iconographer, I am constantly working on my own way, constantly improved, progressive but at the same time deeply rooted in the canonical tradition of the Orthodox icon from the Middle Ages to the 16th century. Over the years, I've managed to create hundreds of icons scattered around the world. I also deal with fresco monumental painting. I made several monumental polychromes in temples. In recent years, I have been returning more and more often from icons to secular painting. The circle of my creative search includes both realistic and symbolic painting as well as abstraction. The topics I reach for have a wide spectrum. Admiration for female nature, reflection on the fate of man, his place in the universe and the drama of existence. I draw heavily from the sources of theology, broadly understood mythology and the spiritual side of human nature, looking for answers to great questions with my painting. Currently, I'm working mainly on the great series "POLIS" - Infinite City. In my mind, this series is to create a huge whole, but it will never be finished.
