Aä is the art name of Augusto Aldeghi. Little is known of him other than he works from his London base with acrylics, gouache and watercolours. Few people in the art world know him personally. He has always protected his privacy because some life circumstances suggest to limit his public appearances. His upbringing was in a environment where every artistic aspiration has always been frowned upon, so his education wasn't artistic.He was born in Italy but life events brought him to emigrate and earn his living by a job unrelated to art for many years. In 2014, some friends, totally unaware at the time of his passion and talent for painting, discovered by mere chance, hundreds of works tucked away in one of his cupboards. It took about two years to convince him to release some of those paintings for sale. Aä hardly speaks about his source of inspiration but there is a common thread linking his recent works, the research for structure and depth through colours juxtaposition and energetic brush strokes. He bins about a third of his works as “meaningless”, although nobody knows what does he mean with that expression. Since he works with small and mid size formats, his paintings are ideal to fill a blank corner of a house or an office with colour and vibrant energy. Being small and manageable, they are the ideal present for an art lover. Currently prices are still low, making these works a perfect art investment for those who look for a medium-term return.
