“Pablo Picasso” is an original painting. It is 24″×24″ Oil on Panel. It is part of a collection of work called, Picture Day: The Icons. Picture Day captures the most influential icons from the past and present in a child portrait series. Like an elementary school yearbook photo, this series features artists, actors, musicians and the most iconic people painted into vibrant modern child portraits, with an attitude… Because every legend had a beginning... Icons as the child they once were, innocent and totally unaware of what extraordinary life that lies ahead of them, reminds me of our similarities and reminds me that each of us holds the magic to paint the life we dream of. Pablo Picasso's tattoo designed after his painting of Guernica, 1937. Probably his most famous work, Guernica is certainly the his most powerful political statements, painted as an immediate reaction to the Nazi's devastating casual bombing practice on the Basque town of Guernica during the Spanish Civil War. 24"x24"x1.5" Oil on Ampersand Panel. Sides of painting are also painted blue. Painting varnished to a rich finish. Signed and ready to hang with hanging wire/hardware. Comes with a certificate of authenticity. Open edition and limited edition prints available. Black and white prints also available.

Meet the talented Los Angeles based artist, Gina Palmerin. Gina is a self-taught artist and began her artistic journey at the age of sixteen when she was introduced to oil painting. She was immediately captured by the process and continued to experiment and teach herself. Throughout her twenties, Gina experimented with several different influences and styles; early 20th century Mexican Murals, Mexicanidad, Art Noveau, Classicism, Surrealism and Pop Art. Her work has been primarily focused on the human face and figure. Over time Gina has developed a unique style which has fused realism, classicism, expressionism and abstract art into one. Gina is currently focused on creating and modernizing iconic classic works of art. “I strive to take the iconic and familiar and fuse it with fresh, design inspired, modern and inspirational visual ideas.” Her childhood influences of her mother, a renowned doll artist are apparent in one of her recent collections, entiltled, Picture Day: The Icons. Reminiscent of an elementary school yearbook photo, this series features iconic artists, legendary actors and musicians painted into vibrant modern child portraits, with a slight attitude.
