Yacht stewardess turned artist, Elena Tuncer is a contemporary painter based on the Mediterranean coast of Turkey. Born and raised in Kazakhstan, Elena's artistic journey has been shaped by a unique combination of formal art education, psychology studies, extensive travel, and a deep connection to the sea. Since relocating to Turkey in 2002, she has drawn continuous inspiration from the breathtaking landscapes, colors, and atmosphere of the Turkish southwest coast. For more than five years, Elena worked as a yacht stewardess, cruising the Mediterranean and Aegean Seas. This experience fostered a profound appreciation for nature, light, and the ever-changing moods of the sea—elements that remain central to her artistic practice today. Her work is inspired by coastal landscapes, marine life, flowers, and the beauty of everyday moments. While many of her paintings depict seascapes and Mediterranean life, she also enjoys exploring a variety of subjects and artistic styles, ranging from realism and impressionism to abstraction. Color, atmosphere, and emotion play a central role in her work. Through continuous experimentation with techniques, textures, and materials, Elena seeks to create paintings that evoke mood, tranquility, and a sense of connection with nature.
