Alfonso Borillo, cartoonist and painter rediscovers itself a a painter after a successful career as a children cartoonist. From oil to acrylic, with a passion for colors that sometimes reach the explosion. Borillo began his career as a cartoonist, drawing one of the idols of our childhood, Maya the Bee. His work as a painter has been influenced by its Catalan origin and has transferred his curiosity to the world of the abstract. Brushes, sponges, cloths and wood have replaced pencils and pens. Arguably its evolution has been a leap into light and color, from white and black. The artist dives through his work in the world of colors, shades of Mediterranean color and references to the Catalan architect Gaudi, to land across the spectrum of colors, full of life, bright or dark. Alfonso Borillo Canos has worked in the children comic world most of his career. Has worked on several comics with the german publisher Bastei and Pabel. He has been the creator of Die Biene Maya, Maya the Bee series, and was one of the illustrators of characters like Felix, 'Tom Berry', 'Nils Holgersson', 'Tao Tao', 'Mainzel München and Mofli The last Koala’etc.. In 2003, he began working in a more experimental series of drawings called "Blanc i Negre ', a stage from which has made the leap to painting, investigating all possibilities of abstract expression and his concerns as an artist.
