ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Painting with a bold abstract expressionism style and patterns created with thickly textured paint done in pointillism style, which I call the "Paintillism" technique because of the depth created by building up textures with oil paints and the negative white space used between the parts to draw the eyes in. Silver and gold inks are drizzled in the top right corner and brightly coloured flowers and foliage connect with flowing shapes and white lines that separate these unique areas that are heavily layered. My name is Alexandra Romano, I am an artist living and working in Toronto, Canada. My passion is creating eye-catching artworks which include bold colour schemes; vibrant abstracts that stand out as a focal point in any space - a conversation piece. I love to experiment and be present during the whole process as I observe each piece come to life, layer by layer; it's my meditation.
