Francesca Fruet, Italian, currently lives and works in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. Her field of artistic production includes painting, illustration, muralism and writing. Graduated in Fine Arts from the National University of Córdoba, Argentina, her life is marked by constant migration and the consequent adaptations to new territories and cultures, the central focus of her artistic research, which also reports a concern with climate change and the memories of places that will never come back. Moving between reality and dreams, her works are made of contrasts: between miniature and large-format painting, nature and technology, painting and text. In 2016 she was a participating artist in the Artistic Meditation Retreat artistic residency, in Thailand. In the same year, she illustrated the book La gratitudine di Macú, part of a project that won the Vito Scafidi prize from the Italian Ministry of Culture. In 2021 and 2022 she collaborated with the Università di Trento, Italy, creating illustrations for the Facoltà di Neuroscienze research project on language. She participated in group exhibitions in Italy, Argentina and Brazil. In 2024 she held the two-person exhibition Natureza Fantástica at the Minas Tênis Clube Gallery in Belo Horizonte. Her works are present in private collections in Argentina, Brazil, Italy, France and England.
