ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Miniature from the series of works "Portraits of dogs in miniature". Made on canvas with oil paints of the professional series "Master class" from the factory "Nevskaya palitra". Framed in Italian plastic. Behind a special device (hanger) for hanging on the wall. Single and original author's painting. The Papillon is a variety of the Continental Toy Spaniel. Translated from French, papillon means "butterfly" - such an interesting name for the breed is due to the appearance of the ears. Large erect ears, covered with long fringed hair, flutter in the wind like butterfly wings. A small and sociable dog won the hearts of millions of people DID YOU KNOW WHAT...?? Dogs of this breed have an unusual appearance, which artists noticed as early as around the 15th-16th century. Therefore, it is believed that the ancestors of Papillons with hanging ears were the first to pose for artists - they are in the paintings of Titian, Rubens, Rembrandt and other masters.

I was born in the capital of a small Baltic country in a family of artists 51 years ago. I've been drawing since I was a child, as long as I can remember. I was friends with a neighbor boy whose parents were also artists. That's why he and I grew up in a creative environment. Perhaps such an environment (poets, artists, musicians, artists) influenced my development. I drew always and everywhere, and often automatically (unconsciously) . At the age of 17, after graduating from high school, I, as is typical of young people, was a terrible maximalist. It seemed to me that I already know everything and know how to do everything. My parents wanted me to continue my studies at the Art Academy.
