Park Anderson Painting

Through these abstract-color field paintings, I wish to introduce a surrealist sense of pictorial environments for my viewers, a melodious lullaby for our subconscious states, with abstract yet ambiguous visual codes such as shapes, forms, lines and color, intertwined across the visual space that initiate open interpretations from all different angles. From this series, the articulation for fluid interactions and compositions between the illustrations of organic shapes and the malleable physicality of the paint in action is the key visual rhythm that I aim to express. When the concepts of ambiguity and fluidity are being mingled in this surrealist architectural color scape, inspirations are drawn from all possible fields of subjects, from contemporary graffities to ancient calligraphies, from mundane highway billboards to contemporary parametric architectures… by connecting these random extractions of aesthetics, I want to embody the spirit of our contemporary generation under globalization in an metaphorically abstract theme space that are described through the nostalgia of pigments and painterly brushstrokes.
