Oleg Sagaidak was born in 1951 ,in the family of writer and artist Yuri Sagaidak. Therefore, it is no coincidence that Oleg had a love of drawing since childhood.From early childhood he started to study drawing. In 1969 he entered to the art and graphic faculty of the Odessa Pedagogical Institute. After graduating from the institute, he worked for some time as a scientist at the Art Gallery, then as a teacher of fine arts at the Art School. Besides painting, Oleg Sagaidak has been inspireted in sailing for about 30 years. Since 1987 he has been a certified captain of a yacht. In 1989 organized an international yacht regatta "Sailors for Peace" with sailors from Poland, France and Ukraine. The hobby grew into a profession and a job as a yacht captain. Sailed on the Mediterranean Sea - to Croatia, Greece, Italy, Spain,Turkey. For a long time the master concerned with the theme of the historical past of Ukraine, our region, especially the theme of the glorious past of the Ukrainian Cossacks. Developing this theme he created many works painted in oil and watercolor. Oleg Sagaidak creates works in the style of abstractionism. This is not a whim or a distortion of taste, but the result of the artist's creative search. The main thing here - color, color thinking of the master, the search for expressiveness. In the search for the expressiveness of the objective and objectless world that he depicts, it is the color scheme of tones and color play a special role in his paintings. The artist uses a great differentiation of color, and individual strokes applied to the canvas, capture a variety of color nuances. The works are interesting for their juicy painting, expressive texture and different emotional sound. The changing play of color shades before our eyes takes place in his paintings. The bright play of colors creates different associations with the world around it in its dynamics. Sometimes the artist refuses a clear drawing and a strict contour - the elements of the landscape are united by a single environment. Oleg Sagaidak is characterized by freedom of creativity. In his search, he uses a variety of styles, methods and techniques, departing from the usual art forms. This picturesque vision of the artist speaks of his commitment to the traditions of expressionist artists.
