Party Painting

Party is a new painting, from my newest series Invisible Ties. "Korent's new paintings represent the continuation of the previous series Infinite kisses. This time, visual representation of interpersonal ties are at the heart of his interest, which enable a slightly more open content interpretation of the works. The paintings depict images of figural scenes, which are limited only to the fragments of the lower/upper parts of bodies and are presented in a completely unrealistic space. However, it is clear from the layout of the figures, their movements and relations between the protagonist that they represent depictions of intimate moments of shared lives ... The reduction of motives as well as the placement of figures into an abstract space thus naturally indicate that the artist is not interested in the objectivity of the scenes, but rather in the visualisation of a particular mood or feeling. Among other things, the undefined motifs allow the spectator to complement the images with his or her own content. Korent also enhances the atmosphere with his depiction of the scene, which is in fact pure colour structure, created with numerous thick layers of intense, glowing colours. Despite the abstract nature of the background, where depth is indicated only with shadows or stains of cold colours, the images give an impression of integrity, to which the articulated treatment of the image surface - an important characteristic of Korent's artistic expression - undoubtedly contributes. By means of a brush, he forms a dense colour substance and enhances the psychological effects of the painted motifs." (Written by N. Kovšca)
