ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I have visited China Town many times during Chinese New Year and am always fascinated by the lanterns and lights that make the place look so festive, colourful and exciting. I have taken many photographs and back in the studio, I print them onto acetate and overlay them which creates wonderful layers of colours and shapes. Watercolour and gouache are ideal mediums to capture these overlays of colour and hopefully create atmospheric pieces of work which are fascinating to look at.
