Painting: Watercolor, Pencil and Ink on Paper.
Inspired by seeing a Eurasian tree sparrow in a flock of commonplace English (or house sparrows) in downtown Duluth, Minnesota at the edge of a parking lot in two tiers, separated by a stone wall. Duluth like many cities hosts native wild birds and plants as well as exotic birds of passage and plants that have escaped from local gardens or seeded themselves from parent plants brought in from far places including lands overseas. Our winter, fall and spring are overlapping with each other more and more in response to climate change.
