ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This work plays with the paradoxical practice of visualising the impossible which painting reveals and dissolves the familiar narrative, the solidified metaphor, opening up other meanings and feelings. This is from a series of Pegasus Paintings based more on flight than horsiness; Pegasus Four refers to his appearance from blood spilled at the death of Medusa. This is a smaller version of the similar Pegasus Five and similar to Pegasus Three. The painting is on deep canvas that has plain sides.
