About The Artwork

Love can be both tender and sad. This is about Eos. By the mockery of gods, she, immortal and eternally young, is doomed to fall in love with mortals, to observe the advance of their old age and their quietus. A friend can be taken away. This is about Pegasus. By the trick of Zeus, he threw off his one and only rider Bellerophon. Pegasus and Eos ... Both were born at the waterhead of the Ocean, however rose up to Heaven. He, being the embodiment of speed and strength, she, – of unfading beauty and bashful passion. The freedom-loving deity-horse and sister of the Sun, both becoming hostages to the will of the gods. They are related by the incompatible – quiet sadness and thirst for life. And let Pegasus prance among the muses and bring the lightnings to Zeus in the day time, and let Eos hopefully gaze into the faces of strangers, every night in the light of Venus they will meet again and begin their magnificent move to fulfill their unique destiny ... In 2017 this painting was exhibited in the museum of Lee Kezhang, Beijing, China. In 2018 this painting "Pegasus and Eos, the Goddes of Dawn" has qualified as one of the finalists in the most prestigious realist art competition in the Americas – the 13th International ARC Salon Competition.
