Elena Fontanesi is an Italian painter based in Reggio Emilia. After studying Sociology and attending the School of Journalism at the University of Urbino, she developed a multidisciplinary artistic path alongside her work as an English language teacher. Largely self-taught, she has been dedicated to painting for over thirty years, working on a wide range of materials and supports. Her work, often close to expressionism, arises from an inner urgency and a continuous search for emotional and poetic balance. Through color, gesture and form, her paintings explore the relationship between reality and imagination, memory and present time, inviting the viewer into a space of introspection and quiet resonance.
