This work was inspired by my dismay at the destruction of the art and artifacts of Islam by extremists and military activity, and by the suffering caused by the ongoing conflict. I hope viewers will share my concern. The medium & application method was selected because of the resultant fabric-like quality.

I studied painting, drawing and color with Josef Albers at Yale University and have recently returned to full time painting and drawing after a career in Graphic Design. My work is in many private collections and has been shown at the Museum of Modern Art Lending Service, the Neuberger Museum, the Flinn Gallery and Anelle Gandelman Fine Art. In 2008 I was an artist in residence at the Albers Foundation in Bethany, Connecticut.
