ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Being attuned to the world and society’s currents and undercurrents, I created these pieces manifesting humanoid forms with masks in January, never knowing that the world simultaneously would be wearing masks for the collective well-being of communities all over the planet. The political conditions added to my manifestation of concern for society. The pieces are named “Person”, “Man”, “Woman”, “Camera/TV” using the title from the president’s remarks. Everyone is hoping that the end of this pandemic is near, when the world can relatively go back to the way it was before COVID-19; a world where we do not have to wear masks for fear of getting sick or getting someone else sick.
