G Pico J, born on September 5, 1985, in the Guadeloupe Islands and now based in Switzerland, is an emerging artist renowned for his innovative approach to mixed-media art. His artistic practice, which began with a transformative dream, has evolved into a unique exploration of painting and sculpture. Pico J is celebrated for his pioneering technique that merges painting with sculptural elements on canvas. His work features three-dimensional aspects, such as protruding noses and mouths, creating a visually dynamic and tactile experience. This distinctive style, influenced by his Caribbean heritage and the pioneering spirit of Pablo Picasso, showcases his ability to push the boundaries of traditional art forms. Committed to ecological principles, Pico J integrates Merino wool, recycled sheep wool, paper, and acrylic mixed with chalk into his creations. This fusion of materials results in artworks that function as both paintings and sculptures, embodying a blend of artistic innovation and environmental responsibility. Currently based at La Croix-Blanche, a historic venue in the Fribourg canton of Romandy, Switzerland, G Pico J continues to refine his artistic vision in a stimulating environment. His work invites viewers to experience a fresh and captivating perspective on art, combining visual impact with a strong commitment to sustainability.
