Pikes Bar Painting

Pikes Bar is an alcohol ink original painting of a photograph I took of my friends at the iconic Pikes in Ibiza. Pikes is an Ibizan institution, steeped in rock ‘n’ roll history and brimming with personality set in the San Antonio hills. Pikes (in Ibiza) was founded by Tony Pike and was the set for Wham’s Club Tropicana music video. 22.5×31.5cm (Framed) 17x12cm (Aperture) I was inspired by the streaming lights and silhouettes of friends and bystanders queuing for drinks so I wanted to recreate the atmosphere and magic of the night. I can almost hear the music pumping in my ears when I look at this again. This has been finished with Golden Archival Aerosol MSA Varnish with UVLS to protect the colours. All alcohol ink original paintings that I create are complete one-offs and are never reproduced in print or greeting cards. They are entirely unique pieces. Most of my work includes metallics and to maintain the integrity and uniqueness of each piece, they are never reproduced. Once they are gone, that is it – they belong to the new owner of the piece.
