ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I have always wanted to create a painting inspired by Mark Rothko's stain paintings. After studying his method and experimenting I created this work. It has numerous layers of oil and medium that give it depth and it has different looks in changed lighting situations. Over all I think this painting maintains a sense of calm even with it's vibrant color. It has a floater frame that is a white wood.
