PLANEUR 1890 Painting

"The representation of the idea captivates me, the universe of thought, the place of man in nature and in his relations with his fellows. The path of the imagination of dreams and dreams, the intuitive search for elements of a physical representation that releases a moral attitude. I create variations from the same color, variations comparable to those of a sonata whose construction revolves entirely around a key. The color applied directly without preparatory drawing "alla prima" replaces the drawing to define gestures, contours and shapes. I thus let go of my intuition, the sensations relay themselves to each other and the ideas are born in the silent and collected atmosphere of these sensory perceptions. Then the drawing appears like a dream and imposes itself on me, it gives a form and a raison to be to my patience, vibrating with an ordinary intensity, carrying well-being, simplicity and evidence and frees me."
