Polaroid Selfie Painting

When I was in a paint-masterclass, I studied the way the Old Masters (like Rembrandt) painted. But at a certain point I just wanted tot turn my work around to see the other side. That's when I started working with clay. But the feeling of painting something that's in your mind, didn't go away. I started experimenting painting with (under) glaze on tiles and loved it ever since. For this piece I've pushed myself to a new level. Because the straight lines and perspective are tough to paint. And I used watercolour techniques to bring light and dark in the plateau. I love the combination of black and the natural tile colour (some what off-white). I did not put glaze on the outside of the tiles, so the actual painting pops out even more.
