ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Inspired by the work of Raphael and then Leonardo's copy of this great Renaissance humanist. I specially like the power of the expression and the human quality of the subject. My painting style is modern and employs loose brushwork but with attention to the personality and the abstract elements of the body in this particular pose. My "non finito" style allows for the viewer to finish various areas left in a sketch like state. This painting is framed informally using simple wood strips as can be seen used in Italian museums for certain old master works. The collector is free to purchase a more elaborate frame once they take possession of the work.
