ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I love to paint faces. This one is inspired by a picture I saw in a magazine. I don't know the person in real. But just by staring at the image and studying the expression and the lines and surfaces in the face, I get the feeling to know the person a little bit more. I start painting, letting go of the picture and create someone new. I added lines for an interesting composition but also to indicate the innerworld of someone (or myself). Lines of life, the story told by a face. What's going on in this person's head or in yours? Just some inspiration, or silence, joy or comfort, that's what I would like to reach with my art. The portrait is painted on a wooden material, so the lines of the surface play a role in the painting. Artwork is 20x20 cm. The frame is part of the artwork and 31x31 cm.

I'm always searching for new ways for my art (small to large sizes, different techniques) to travel and show themselves to public.
