Art Description

Painting: Acrylic, Paint and Wood on Wood.

I love to paint faces. This one is inspired by a picture I saw in a magazine. I don't know the person in real. But just by staring at the image and studying the expression and the lines and surfaces in the face, I get the feeling to know the person a little bit more. I start painting, letting go of the picture and create someone new. I added lines for an interesting composition but also to indicate the innerworld of someone (or myself). Lines of life, the story told by a face. What's going on in this person's head or in yours? Just some inspiration, or silence, joy or comfort, that's what I would like to reach with my art. The portrait is painted on a wooden material, so the lines of the surface play a role in the painting. The material is Medium-Density Fibreboard. The painting is varnished for protection.
Artwork of the face is 10x15 cm. Frame is decorated with a line pattern and 15x20cm.
