Born in Rotterdam in 1949 and live and work in Amsterdam since 1976. At this moment I leve in Almere-Haven, a city near Amsterdam. I show on this page a serie of five figurative graphite drawings and a serie of nine coloured inkdrawings with as topic (strange) Angels (in strange environments). The other shown serie on this site is a part of the greater WORKS project. A serie acrylpaintings on canvas (200 x 200 cm) and a large serie of digital art, printed on fine-art watercolorpaper (24 x 30 cm).As a source of inspiration I used the (supposed) thoughts of someone as Simon the Pillarsaint. An ancient kind of performer. Sufferinged, thinked about solutions or perhaps only as a way of contemplation? Upstairs, on that pillar, gatterred impressions and information, while his act most going on. In this, postmodern, moment it seems that there is no other way for artists to manifest theirselves like that ancient saints. Each on his/her own way and with the most diverging and thinkable media. Busy with reflection, (re-)formulating and creating new horizons and spaces. This proces reflects the constant growing WORKS project. As a reaction on the environment, from out myself, as an individual, against outside. Not only for the pictures but for the gesture. My own preferences for vivid colors and clear forms makes this project for what it is. Hope you enjoy my works!
