Born in the UK of Russian and English heritage, Pandora Bharti (Panni Bharti) went to India in 1975 after have trained in classical art in Italy. Embarking on a voyage of spiritual discovery and transformation, she led the nomadic and hermetic life of a Sanyasi renouncing the materialistic values of Westernisation. There she lived in caves and walked the pilgrim way, encountering the diversity of mystical rites from Tantric cremation grounds to lone hermitages on the banks of the river Ganges. This life and journey expressed itself in a poetic prologue, 'Silent Tongues', a 60 minute film, a journey reflecting her encounters with the Yogis of India. Panni also worked in the music industry doing experimental band photography and album sleeves, and created stage shows using multi media art. She also worked with audio-visual art magazine ' Touch 'as graphic artist, and contributor. During these years she had many photographic shows and contributed to magazines and galleries both in the UK and abroad. Touch published a black and white photographic book of her work called Second Sense. She worked extensively with a charity called Fine Cell work, which helped to reform long term prisoners by needle point, creating graphic design. In 2009 she was commissioned to design the interior of an Italian deli ITALO using recycled materials and innovative design. This same year she put to print some spiritual poetry published by Orange Blossom Press in a little book called the ' Mystic breath.' She now works from her studio in south London.
