Jürg Klingler, born in 1960 in Winterthur, completed an apprenticeship as a decoration designer in Winterthur. During the eighties he found himself confronted with the then scene of the “Young Savages”. There he met important actors such as the painter artists Claudio Conte and Aleks Weber. Until the end of the nineties he was able to show his works in several exhibitions in Winterthur, Zürich, Aarau and Biel. The regional success was supported by the town of Winterthur, by the purchase of the painting “Kunstmuseum” in 1995. In order to develop further and experience other perspectives on life, he turned to computer programming. During this time, until about 2016, only a few works were created by the artist. Klingler has been painting again since 2016, and more intensively than before. In the summer of 2017, a selection was shown at the Macherei in Zurich on the occasion of an art aperitif. In September 2018, he managed to arrange a joint exhibition togeher with the photographer Ruth Erdt and the graphic novellist Andy Fischli in Zurich. In spring 2019, JK moved into a new studio in the trendy Wipkingen district of Zurich. There he will again produce paintings in oil. Exhibitions in Zurich and Opfikon will consolidate the artistic network so that a large exhibition can take place in the Bern area in 2023.
