Uladmi is originally from southwestern Siberia and currently in the Pacific Northwest of the states. Her cultural dichotomy taught her to challenge social constructs, which can be seen in both her creative methodology and the works themselves. Meticulously relentless in 18 years to fully capture a loved one outside of a singular period in time, and unflinching in painting acrylic over six year old oil in order to give the experience of the unwinding of time, Uladmi continuously realigns our focus. Seemingly benign pleasantly colored work always gives more in thought and interaction than just image. Creation is solely for the viewer and collector to share a collective experience, memory, and feeling that retrains our priorities of perception. Work that is made public is a language that pulls from our individual memories and perspectives to create a mutual link.
